Bubala, Soho & Spitalfields & Kings Cross
At Bubala, the menu is entirely vegan/vegetarian. Some of our favorite items, in addition to what's shown in the picture, include: Pickle Plate. Falafel with tahini, amba, sumac onions. Beetroot & Blood Orange Fattoush, black garlic. Smacked Cucumbers, and Chilli Crunch.

Chuku's, Tottenham
At Chuku’s, the Nigerian tapas bar in Tottenham with a twist, half of the menu is vegan. Some beloved options, aside from the delicious Moi Moi, include: Sweet Okra with a maple-chili dressing, Egusi Bowl (yam dumplings served with a trio of flavorful sauces: Nigerian melon seed, spinach, coriander, and fennel; red bell pepper and tomato), and Jollof Rice.

Chatsworth Bakehouse, Crystal Palace
Chatsworth Bakehouse in South London is known for its small-batch sourdough sandwiches, with a menu that changes weekly. They often feature creative plant-based options, so be sure to check the latest lineup—and don’t forget to pre-order for collection before you go, as they sell out fast!

Vegan Dükkan Lokanta, Cihangir
Vegan Dükkan Lokanta is like an introduction to veganism. Tarkan Aparı, the owner and creator, first opened his shop in 2004 as a vegetarian market. It has since evolved into a vegan shop with an adjacent restaurant. While sitting at the Vegan Eatery, ordering spinach and tofu börek, the traditional smoked eggplant dish Hünkar Beğendi made with soy, or the delicious stuffed chard leaves (filled with equal amounts of walnuts, fresh herbs, and rice) is a must.

Vegan Masa, Beşiktaş & Kadıköy
This is pide, to you, it might be "Turkish pizza." This one is mushroom and cheese from Vegan Masa in Beşiktaş. My only feedback while enjoying the five slices would be about the condiments. In a world where soy is one of the main protein sources (but not the ultimate one), I would have liked to see some seasonal legumes such as cauliflower, carrots, beets, or more traditional options like eggplant and squash. A signature pide made with herbs and vegetables from each season—a pide that is so green, violet, or orange. A "we went to the local market, picked up whatever we found at the counter, mixed it together, and put it in" kind of pide.

Holy Carrot, Notting Hill
Just went to Holy Carrot (finally!). Ordered Koji bread with smoked mushroom chili ragu, shakshouka with koji-cured tofu, Stracciatella, persimmon, bitter leaves, and Nahm Jim. All delicious, but I can't get enough of the coal-roasted leeks, corn, almond, and Aji chili. I’ll be back with a bigger group of friends to order what we couldn’t this time. The article is yet to come, but this plate is just an amuse-bouche for you to crave for more.
